Sub-urb

Serralves Foundation Park, Porto, 2003

An underground space, accessible from ground level via stairs, in the park’s old farming area. From inside one could observe, through a four-meter-high periscope, part of the urban landscape that surrounds the park, including Hotel Ipanema and social housing (Bairro da Pasteleira). Due to the positioning of the mirrors in the periscope, the city landscape was reversed.
