A plywood construction blocked the top part of a window allowing only a narrow line of the outside to be seen. The room was pitch-black and this thin line of landscape was all that could be seen. As the viewer moved around the room a different line segment of the landscape became visible. The landscape could thus be visually "scanned" by one walking back and forth inside the room.
